Working in a medical molecular biology institute with more than half of it's research dedicated to cancer, I can say cancer is one nightmarishly complicated problem to untangle.
And which will take time - lots more of it!
But my institute is also located inside a hospital ... as the author said, seeing patients everyday reminds the researchers why they must continue hacking away at the huge quagmire of diseases.

Susan Boyle - live life with a dream

Read about Susan Boyle on CNN, and went on to watch the Youtube link on the site.
When she first went on stage, it was like those typical American Idol clips of someone who is about to bomb ... until she opened her mouth and sang the entire hall to pieces. Too often we think beauty is outward; but she reminds us of where true beauty comes from. And her performance rebukes any of us (myself included) who thinks looks are how we measure people by.

A life lived by the sidelines, sometimes trampled on by others simply because she's different.
But a gem was forged by those hardships, with the splendor and grace of another age.
Dreams wouldn't die as long as you hold on to them
It's never too late unless you choose to give up.
