4th week has passed

I've ended my 4th week as a member of the working community.
One month already. And also received my 1st paycheck ... wow.

I've completed my attachments to the different sections of my department to observe 1st hand how the New Business department works. Now we are being trained on how to underwrite cases, via CBT - Computer Based Training. It can be difficult because the answers the software wants, for its questions, can be quite rigid.

Had a great time last Wednesday celebrating the birthdays of my collegues. Rushed over to Domino's and KFC at Ampang Point to grab some pizza's and chickens. Made our own drinks and bought a cake as well ... party in the office! Nice.

My job so far - and my CONVOCATION at last!

I'm in my 3rd week of training as a Great Eastern insurance underwriter right now. Lots of stuff to assimiliate, especially all those different types of policies, benefits, riders, their codes and etc ... ouch. And also how the production line works to process all those proposals flooding in. Not helping is that my memory's a little rusty ... all those anatomy, physiology, pathology I'd learned the past 3 years ... it's somewhere in my head, but I can't seem to find them ...

And now, it's going to be my convocation ceremony. Finally, the last chapter of my tertiary education is about to close, forever ending the previous phase that was.

My convocation is on the 12th of August (Sunday) 2007, 7.30am - 12.00pm, at the Dewan Canselor Tun Abdul Razak (DECTAR) of my main UKM campus down in Bangi, Selangor. (Why, oh why did they have to put it on a Sunday MORNING?! Lack of consideration for others laa. No option but to go since no appeal allowed ...) Of course, there's the other matters of taking my graduation suit/gown/whatever-you-call-it sometime 4 - 9 August, getting the usual photo's taken, and attending the rehearsal on the 9th. (My only contention is that it's PINK in colour! Who chose it?!)

To exit University officially and in style ... what an experience it's going to be. Of course, after getting drenched in sweat - to take photo's at 12 noon with my shirt, business suit and graduation gown; it's a free sauna!
